Earlier this year, we launched a video interview platform that links entry-level talent to employers with the goal of democratizing the recruitment process at this level.
So, let’s start with the “why” and then go from there.
They say that at the heart of every good recruiter is a natural story-teller and this is true.
A well-told story means that you can open up the looking glass into a Company in a way that you won’t see by just looking at an ad or reading their website.
One the other side of the coin, there’s the story about the candidate who doesn’t fit the brief but has all the “intangibles” that make them a great fit. This is hard to do when all you have is a resume to judge someone by and is also why recruiting at a junior level is as much of an art as it is a science.
On the flip side, though, too many people miss out on opportunities before they’ve even got a foot in the door because “on paper” they aren’t right and there’s no one to tell their story for them. Maybe the job seeker has the wrong impression of an employer and decides not to apply when, in fact, it would be a life-changing opportunity. If only someone could tell the story of how great this business really is to work for!!! There is real magic in storytelling that the written world lacks.
Enter stage left Vidaura…
Our platform IS the looking glass. We allow recruiting and jobseeking to be transparent via pre-recorded videos that showcase the Employer and the Employee – both sides of the equation…
…and what better industry to start with than Hospitality which is roaring back to life post COVID.
Companies such as Glassdoor and LinkedIn have played their part in adding transparency to the recruitment process, but with Vidaura we want to go one step further and democratize it.
